Warsaw
My first trip of 2019 was to Warsaw, the capital city of my favourite country in the world (Poland). I had a fantastic time; I'd been to Warsaw once before, just for the day, but this trip was so different. We did all sorts of fun things and went to so many museums, ate such good food and got very very drunk on more than one occasion.
Manchester
I've been to Manchester a couple of times this year; it's only down the road, really, and I go for gigs quite often. Other than gigs, me and P have been a couple of times for various things. It's expensive, compared to where we live, but I do have a soft spot for the city. I stayed at the EasyHotel for the first time this year in Manchester, too!
Costa de la Calma / Palma de Mallorca
My first actual, proper, real 'solo trip'. I've travelled solo before, but never done an entire trip from start to finish on my own. I absolutely LOVED it, to be honest. Going at your own pace and not having to consider anyone else when making plans is so relaxing. I read so many books and just completely chilled out.
Gdańsk
One of the best holidays of the year - I truly fell head over heels with Gdańsk, yet another city in Poland. It's stunning, there's so much to do and the locals are SO friendly. I just loved every second of the trip (despite being full of cold) and I'd recommend the city to anyone. A few people have since been on my recommendation and also adored it, so you know. #influencer
Nottingham
This was my first press trip - I worked with the tourist board and spent just over 24 hours in Nottingham. I got to see one of my best friends, and do all sorts of fun and exciting things. It's a cool city with so much to do and see, and I'd definitely go back. You can read about it here and here!
Kendal
We just popped here for a couple of hours when Northern Rail did their 10p ticket sale, and we didn't do much - you can read about it here - but it was lovely and somewhere I'd definitely go back to!
Santa Susanna / Barcelona
My first and only all inclusive warm summery holiday of the year. I had such a fab time just completely relaxing every day, except for the one day we headed into Barcelona which was far from relaxing but still loads of fun. It was such a lovely holiday, and if you want to know more you can read about the trip here!
Wroclaw
A gang of four of us went, and we had a lovely time exploring the city and drinking plenty of vodka. It's not my favourite Polish city and there's not that much to do but I had an absolute ball regardless, and blogged about it here, here and here.
Szczecin
Last but not least, I spent four days in Szczecin (Poland again!) with my best friend. We walked the red route, did a day trip to Berlin, went to the Crooked Forest and ate loads of pierogi. I had such a lovely time - it's a weird little city, but one that now has a big place in my heart. Blog posts coming soon!
So there's where I travelled to in 2019 - all in all, a very successful year of travel I think! I'm looking forward to seeing where 2020 takes me...
You've done so much travelling! Every time I read your travel guides I get so inspired to visit them - Gdansk is definitely high on my list now. I also love that you got to explore more of England. Travelling close to home is sometimes underrated - there's so much to see on our own doorsteps so I love this! :)
