My current skincare routine

My skin has been pretty good recently, and a lot of people have been commenting on how glowy and clear it's been which is just bloody lovely. I thought I'd drop my current skincare routine in a blog post for you, in case you're looking for some new products to try!

Morning

For a morning cleanse I've been using the Glow Mud Cleanser* from Pixi which smells amazing, doesn't sting and is really good at gently exfoliating/clearing pores/making you glow. It is currently sold out online (booooo) but if it does come back in stock, grab some!

I then go in with the Pixi Glow Tonic*, everybody's favourite - it's a genuine staple in my skincare routine and I don't think I'll ever be without it now. I use that on a cotton pad (though I have been scouting out some eco-friendly alternatives, like these) and I'm good to go.

If I'm not wearing make up, I mix a serum in with my DermaLoch Rejuvaderm Moisturiser* - they're a brand who make skincare specifically for people with eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. This moisturiser is really mild and sinks in quickly but is reaaaaallllly moisturising, which is amazing. They have an Intensive Natural Skin Nourishment Spray*, which I spritz on pre-moisturising if my skin is particularly dry that day. Anyway, in terms of the serums I mix in it's always either Pure Lagoon* (when I'm spotty) or Super Greens* (when I'm dry and red), both from Tropic. I have full reviews of them here and here, if you want some more info.

If I am wearing make up, I leave out the serum and opt for the moisturiser on it's own as well as some eye cream; at the minute I'm loving Eye Wonder* from Daytox, which is a 'firming hyaluronic serum' that doesn't sting and makes my eye area feel soft and moisturised, which in turn helps my concealer perform better. Daytox are a really cool German brand who you will definitely be hearing more about on my blog soon!

Evening

To remove my make up, I've been loving The Body Shop's Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter, which is a tenner and is (understandably) one of their best sellers. I find I only need a tiny bit to remove my make up, and I use a microfibre cloth (from the cleaning aisle in Poundland) rather than a flannel, because flannels irritate my skin and microfibre cloths are what brands repackage into those 'magic make up remover cloths' so they're absolutely fine for your skin. Little life hack for you there. Also, here is a VERY old blog post I wrote about this cleanser when I first started my blog - I really love looking back at my old blog posts and seeing how I've improved.

Every other day I also use a mask, and at the moment I've solely been reaching for another product from The Body Shop: their Warming Mineral & Ginger Mask, which I bloody love. Because you can feel it heating up, it always makes me think it's really doing something - I tend to use it mostly on my chin, cheeks and nose where my pores are more visible, and I think it's boss.

I then go in with a toner, usually another Pixi one (the rose tonic* or the retinol tonic* depending what mood I'm in) before moisturiser, mixed with serum if I've not used it in the morning. For my evening moisturiser I usually opt for the Clarins HydraQuench Cream which is expensive but incredibly worth it.

If I have any particularly bad spots or patches of eczema, I use one of my prescribed creams of an evening too - I tend not to use these in the morning, as they can be quite greasy or smell a bit weird!

And that's it, really. My skincare routine is pretty simple but it works for me and I'm pretty happy with my skin at the moment. PS I know loads of this stuff was sent to me in PR but it is stuff I use daily and am very lucky to receive as part of my job!
