It's been a while since I posted a life update kind of post, and I've been busy. This little blog of mine is a bit of a journal as well as a place for reviews etc - so don't mind me just posting all about my life on the odd occasion!
Busy - oh I've been busy. I'm plodding on with my masters, which is really challenging but also really enjoyable. I have an academic book review due next week, and I chose to write about B. J. Epstein's Are The Kids All Right? which looks at the representation of LGBTQ characters in kid's fiction. It's close to home, and it's similar to my own research and it's so like what I want to achieve. It's really easy to read and if the topic is something you're interested in, definitely give it a read. It's not without its faults but it is a damn good book. I also got a job in a pub, and I've only done one shift because I ended up getting costochondritis the day before my second shift so I spent my Saturday at the walk-in centre and was told I couldn't go to work that night. But next week I'll do another shift, and I'll get used to it, and I'm sure I'll make friends and have fun and carry on pouring the perfect Guinness, something I didn't expect to be so good at.
On top of that, I've been trying to run my YouTube channel and the joint one I share with my fiancé; they're slipping a bit, which is frustrating but it can't be helped because my blog is more important to me - YouTube is just a bit of fun on the side that I can return to whenever. The big thing, though, the reason I'm SO busy, is that I've started doing freelance content writing and a bit of social media management which is so exciting, so rewarding and mostly a lot of fun. It also means that my degree - creative writing and journalism - wasn't a waste, and I'm using the skills I've learnt from blogging which is nice!
As you're reading this I'm back in Poland, my favourite country, but in a new city: Poznan, somewhere I've never been before and never wanted to go to until I saw the colourful houses and twenty quid flights. So there's where I'm at now, and you can expect a photo diary when I'm home! I just booked tickets to see Mayday Parade in September which I'm SO excited about, alongside the other two gigs I have planned for this year. I was briefly considering Steps as well, but left my mum to go with her friend because it's pretty pricey for a second reunion tour...
So that's my life right now - busy, fun and just down right nice.
Your doing everything you love right now so just keep on doing it!
