#CarnLIVal X Sanitary Products

Hey hi hello - just popping in with a quick blog post, as I've not got anything written for today (we only got back from Poland last night) so I wanted to tell you what we're doing as part of #CarnLIVal, in the wake of various articles from the past week.

Girls in the UK, in our country, are skipping school because they can't afford sanitary products - tampons, sanitary towels, menstrual cups etc. This is so heartbreaking to me, the thought of not being able to to enjoy your education because of your period, because of something you can't control, because of a lack of access to the things that so many of us take for granted.

So - what are we doing about it? We'll have a box at our upcoming event, our Easter #CarnLIVal in Liverpool next month, for our guests (bloggers from across the North West and beyond) to donate products. Some people are also sending products ahead of time, which is cool - if I know you and you wanna do this, just DM me on Twitter and we can discuss. If you happen to be a Uni of Chester student reading this, I'm around on main campus on Tuesdays so can and will happily collect any products from you there!

We'll be taking the products to schools, youth groups and shelters across Merseyside and Cheshire, to ensure young people from the most deprived areas have access to products that will make sure they can go to school when they're on there periods.

But if you can't get products to us - don't worry. We've set up a Go Fund Me page, and just £1 will enable us to buy another pack of sanitary towels so please please please consider donating if you can spare the price of a takeaway coffee.

Any help will be appreciated, not just by us but by the young people who's lives we are aiming to make a difference to. Thank you.

  2. This is SUCH an amazing idea. It upsets me so much that girls in our country are missing out on parts of their education because of periods. I've just donated a lil something to the GoFundMe as I can't get to the event. I hope it all goes really well!
