What we've done so far as 2025 brides pt.2

Now that our wedding is less than a year (!!) away, I thought I'd make a part 2 of my post detailing what we've already organised as 2025 brides - mainly for myself, but also if there's any 2025 brides reading this I hope you enjoy!

As a recap, in part 1 we had: chosen a date, booked the ceremony and reception, made a hefty spreadsheet, planned our decor theme and started buying some little bits. So where are we up to now for our October 2025 wedding?

Re-booked our ceremony

In a crazy turn of events, our ceremony venue (a local town hall, where my beloved Grandad got married) is closing down. They offered to move our wedding to a different town hall in the same borough, but we weren't keen on it and have opted for a city wedding at a different registry office. It was fairly stressful for about 2 weeks while we waited to hear what our options were and while we decided what to do, but ultimately it's worked out quite nicely!

Chosen our music

We've chosen the songs we want at the registry office, as well as most of the tunes we want at the party - and we've asked my dad to sing a couple of hits as well, because that man would sing at the opening of an envelope... seriously though, we're chuffed that he's happy to sing for us and so excited. We're not having a DJ, just a very carefully curated Spotify playlist, and I'm really happy with that decision.

Booked my car

I had my heart set, for some reason, on a Bentley to get me to the ceremony - but it was looking crazy expensive as sadly it turned out we didn't know anyone who just happened to have one. Instead I've opted for something that in my opinion is even better and much more *me*, so I've booked that!

Designed my dress

I knew from the get go exactly what I wanted my dress to look like, but does it exist? No, so I found an amazing local dressmaker who completely saw my vision, and from the sketch let's just say I'm VERY excited. But I'm keeping my lips firmly sealed on that...

Booked a hotel

We knew we wanted to stay at a hotel the night of the wedding, and we've actually extended it to a 2-night stay for the night after too. I'm over the moon with the hotel we've chosen, one neither of us have stayed at before, and it's going to be such a treat to stay there as newlyweds.

Booked our minimoon

How many times can I write the word 'booked' in one blog post?! But we have, excitingly, booked our minimoon - three days after the wedding we'll be heading back to my second home, Poznan, a city that my fiancée fell in love with too when we visited earlier this year. It's going to be a few days of relaxing, eating good food, and just enjoying our newlywed bubble!

Bought (many) more little bits

From a Six Stories 'BRIDE' t shirt I picked up on Vinted to vintage glass bottles and autumnal pieces, we've got pretty much all of the little bits either already purchased or sitting in online shopping baskets until nearer the time so we don't have to store them for too long. It's all coming together!

Designed our invitations & wedding website

I am BIG fan of Canva, and there's probably not a day that goes by when I don't use it either for work, my blog or my socials. So it was only natural that I'd design our invitations myself; they're ready to be printed and sent, and I've even made a wedding website on there so we can have all of the information easily accessible for guests.

I feel like we've really achieved a lot in terms of planning our 2025 wedding, though I know there's loads still to do! I need to find hair and make up artists, book a minibus, my fiancée needs a suit and I haven't chosen my shoes yet. But I do think everything is under control... for now!
