4 cruise itineraries on my bucket list!

Since doing my first cruise in 10 years a couple of months ago, it's basically all I think about. With that in mind you'll probably be seeing a *lot* more cruise content on the blog, even if it's mainly hypothetical things like this: my four dream cruise itineraries. Keep reading to find out the routes on my bucket list! Obviously cruise itineraries change all the time and these are just some which are currently available to book - but they're all jam packed with places I'd love to go to.

Greek Mystique by Marella

The four cruises I've been lucky enough to do so far have all been on Marella, and I just love everything about cruising with the TUI line. I just love the look of the Greek Mystique itinerary, which is set to run from June to September 2023 on the Marella Explorer 2. It sails from gorgeous Dubrovnik, and hits the following ports:

  • Souda, Crete
  • Piraeus, Greece
  • Katakolon, Greece
  • Corfu Town, Corfu
  • Bar, Montenegro
  • Dubrovnik, Croatia

I've actually been to a lot of these places before, but not for a long time - and there's nothing wrong with visiting places twice, especially when they're as nice as these! Souda is the port for visiting Chania, a stunning harbour town with a lighthouse and monastery, which looks lush. Piraeus is for Athens, where I have been and loved, and Katakolon is where you dock to visit Olympia aka the birthplace of the Olympic Games, another site I have been to before. This is a really varied and very pretty itinerary and one which looks wonderful to me!

Norwegian Fjords by P&O

I know various cruise lines do Norwegian Fjord itineraries but after a few weeks of research, I've decided P&O are who I want to go with - we are actually looking at booking this for 2024, which I'm so excited about. Hopefully you'll still be reading my blog then... Anyway, the typical Fjords itinerary on a P&O's Iona departs from Southampton in the UK and goes a little something like this...

  • Day at sea (and I love a day at sea...)
  • Stavanger
  • Olden
  • Innvikfjorden (cruise-by, so almost like another day at sea but prettier)
  • Nordfjord
  • Alesund
  • Haugesund
  • Day at sea

Obviously all the cruise ports are in Norway, and they all just look breathtaking. Honestly it's one of those cruises where you'd need to clear your entire phone's memory before you go to make sure you have room for the 72,000 photos you're going to take. With sleepy villages, snowy mountains, viewpoints, incredible food... yep, if I don't book it soon I might genuinely cry!

7 nights from Kiel with MSC

I can't seem to figure out actual itinerary names when it comes to MSC, but regardless the below itinerary looks fantastic. It actually covers a lot of the ports I was supposed to visit on my cancelled cruise in 2020, but it leaves from Kiel - somewhere which is really on my bucket list after a brief day there during my trip to Hamburg earlier this year. The ports are:

  • Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Day at sea
  • Tallin, Estonia
  • Helsinki, Finland
  • Stockholm, Sweden
  • Day at sea

It visits a few countries I've never been to before, which is perfect for my 30 before 30 list. They are all really cool places with a lot of interesting history and things to see/do, and I just really like this group of destinations. A very good cruise itinerary, in my opinion!

Asia: Singapore, Philippines and Vietnam with Norwegian

The aforementioned cancelled cruise was booked with Norwegian, and this one looks particularly incredible. I love the look of their ships, too, and this one is on the Norwegian Jewel in November 2023. I've never been to Asia, and the thought of exploring the continent via a cruise ship is magical to me. It embarks from Manila in the Philippines, and the ports of call are:

  • Boracay, Philippines
  • Puerto Princesa, Philippines
  • Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
  • Muara, Brunei Darussalam
  • Day at sea
  • Nha Trang, Vietnam
  • Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
  • Day at sea
  • Singapore (for 2 days)
  • Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

What a stunner - and it's an 11 day cruise, which is perfect. Soooo much to see and discover, delicious food, a huge ship with loads of bars and so much to do. This one is amazing and again ticks off loads of new countries for me!

Do any of these cruise itineraries tickle your fancy? They all look SO good and if I had unlimited funds you can bet I'd have booked them all by now...
