I love food, and I love writing about food. I love going to new restaurants, visiting old favourites, finding out where people recommend... I just *love it*. On that note, today I'm going to share five restaurants I want to eat in during the remainder of summer 2022 - and also recommend them to you in the process. Some I've been to, some are ones that I'm just dying to get to. So, without further ado...
Tiger Rock, North John Street AND Smithdown Road
My two friends took me here as a surprise for my birthday, and I was *not* expecting it to be so good. But it's just amazing; it serves a variety of different Asian cuisines, small-plate style, and it works out fairly affordable. The menu recommends you order 2-3 small plates per person, which is definitely about right, and they come in at around £7-10 per plate. The drinks are quite expensive, especially if you accidentally order the poshest gin on the menu without realising... But overall I loved it here, I definitely want to go back AND I'm recommending it to you. They offer gift vouchers too, valid for both sites.
Neapolitan, Lime Street
I love pizza, and particularly wood-fired pizza. These pizzas look amazing, and they also have award-winning ice cream AND 2 for £12 cocktails. What more could you really want, to be fair. Plus it's really central, and if you sign up to their mailing list you can claim a free pizza - yes, that's right, FREE pizza. It's definitely on my list of places to visit this summer, and should be on yours too...
Bouchon, Derby Square
Transport yourself to France without leaving Liverpool this summer and head to Bouchon; my friend recently ate here and said it was lovely, and judging by the menus and pictures it looks amazing. They have separate dairy free AND gluten free menus, which is always a winner, and honestly it just looks like a total taste sensation. 100% on my list of Liverpool restaurants to visit this Summer!
GPO Food Hall, Metquarter
I've been to GPO a few times now because it's the ideal place to hole up with your laptop and get some work done; they have a specific co-working option you can pay for which gives you free tea & coffee for £5 per day but as I drink neither of these I just go along anyway for the fast wifi and multiple plugs. They do a £6 lunch option at most if not all of the many different food vendors located here, so you can grab a bargain meal while out shopping or if, like me, you're working hard. I can personally highly recommend the food from Patty B's Burgers and Greek Mythos.
Gino D'Campo 360 Sky Bar, INNSide, Old Hall Street
Hotel giants Melia have a really lovely collection of hotels called Innside, and there's one in Liverpool which also happens to be home to a Gino's restaurant with panoramic views of the city centre. What a bloody treat. I haven't been yet but it's definitely on my list of restaurants in Liverpool to visit this summer, for a touch of classy decor, stunning views and gorgeous Italian food...
If you have any recommedations for places to eat in Liverpool this summer, drop them in the comments so I can check them out. It's a taxable expense to eat food for a blog review, right?!
