(AD) My all-new summer skincare routine with Boots

This is a sponsored blog post in collaboration with Boots; all words/thoughts are mine.

If you read my blog regularly then you'll know I'm a bit of a skincare fanatic. So when Boots reached out to see if I wanted to work with them to discuss my summer skincare routine, I knew this was the campaign for me. So I've been spending the past month or so testing some new products and refining a skincare routine that really works for me! Here's what I'm currently using...

In the bathroom

I'd seen the Carbon Theory Charcoal & Tea-Tree Oil Cleansing Bar* just about everywhere and as someone who suffers with adult acne, I thought it was high time I tried it. And I absolutely love it - it leaves my skin feeling SO clean but without any dryness, and it smells amazing too. It's also better for the environment because it's just a bar, which also means it'll be great to travel with (when we can) as it won't take up any liquid allowance!

I've been following up with the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Mask* twice a week. I absolutely adore La Roche-Posay, and this mask has become a firm favourite very quickly. It's not too thick so it dries really quickly, and I definitely notice less redness after using it as well as tighter pores. I apply it with a brush and wash it off 10-15 minutes later. Absolutely brilliant stuff.

In the morning

For my morning moisturiser I've been using the Soap & Glory The Fab Pore Daily Moisture Lotion* which I just love. It smells amazing but not too strong, and leaves my skin feeling lovely - I find it works really well under make up, and it's moisturising without being greasy. With the sporadic sunny days we've been having, I've been wearing suncream some days which can leave my face feeling clogged and greasy - but this counteracts that and just feels lush.

To remove make up

On the days when I wear make up, it tends to be when I'm in work - so generally, I don't get home until around 1am. This means I'm knackered and in no mood to stand at the sink and do a full cleanse, so I opt for wipes. I wouldn't use wipes every day but for removing make up when I'm knackered, I've been reaching for the Boots Sensitive Biodegradable Micellar Cleansing Wipes* which contain soothing aloe vera and genuinely do a great job of removing a full face of make up. The fact that they are biodegradable is a real bonus to me, too!

In the evening

At bed time, I follow up with two products: the new Boots Glow Essence* (a bargain £4 serum) and the Vichy Normaderm Correcting Anti-Blemish Care* which is an old favourite of mine. The Glow Essence is cooling and nourishing, and does give me a gorgeous glow when I wake up the next morning - while the moisturiser works to keep any pesky spots at bay. When the weather changes and gets warmer, I tend to get more spots but my skin is looking really clear at the moment which I'm thrilled about!

So there's my summer skincare routine, built with the best skincare products you can pick up at Boots - all of this cost less than £50 and makes for a well-rounded day and night routine that has left my skin looking absolutely lovely as we enjoy the summer months.

  1. I love La Roche-Posay. I've only tried their SPF products (the only stuff that doesn't break my face out and has SPF 50!) so I'll have to give this face mask a go...

  3. What a gorgeous selection of products. I love the look of the Boots own products, I haven't tried any of them but the prices look so reasonable and I can never resist a serum!
