As you might know if you read my blog regularly, I've been reading a LOT during lockdown. I think I read 15 books in April alone, which is mega. So I'm slowly running out of things to read which is never a good thing. With that in mind, here are all the books currently on my wishlist...
Pretending by Holly Bourne; she's my favourite YA author and I haven't read any of her adult novels, so I'm dying to get my hands on this.
The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd, which has just been released and looks incredible. I've read all of her novels, and The Secret Life of Bees is my favourite book of all time (I have two copies, so I've got a back up for when my original one falls apart from being read too many times).
The Girl of Ink & Stars by Kiran Millwood Hargrave is a YA fantasy book - not my most preferred genre, but one that I have dipped in and out of over the years and found myself enjoying. This looks brilliant.
Differently Normal by Tammy Robinson is another YA novel, a love story - I've not heard much about it but it looks like an all-round nice book.
The Guest List by Lucy Foley has rave reviews, and I love a psychological thriller/mystery so this is right up my alley...
The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar is about 'a queer Muslim Bangladeshi girl falling in love with another girl' and I'm just so thrilled that such representation exists, and I want this book to be as successful as possible. Plus it just sounds like a genuinely great story!
The Catch by T.M Logan looks great - I read and loved The Holiday, so I'm fairly sure I'd really enjoy this one too. Again I love a bit of a psychological thriller, which this is.
The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr is another YA tale, this one about a girl with retrograde amnesia. It sounds so wonderful and interesting!
Hope Close by Tina Seksis looks mysterious - I haven't heard much about it but the cover really jumps out at me, and I like stories about quaint English countrysides where things to wrong...
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins is the latest addition to the Hunger Games world, and I'm desperate to read it for old times sake. Plus, you know, I bet it's good.
What books are on YOUR wishlist right now? There's actually loads more on mine, but I wrote this post a few weeks ago and have now probably doubled my wishlist. Oops! Let me know if you've read any of these, too, and what you thought of them...
Can't wait for Pretending by Holly Bourne to come out! x
