Balmonds skincare - some background
This is a skincare company with a difference. They started with one woman, a mother desperate to find something that would soothe her daughter's poorly skin that didn't contain steroids. I know first-hand how difficult skin conditions can be, and I've used steroid creams for my whole life because I'm constantly having eczema flare-ups. And even though sometimes they're the only thing that works, they're not great. So hats off to Natalie Balmond for taking matters into her own hands!
She wanted to create completely natural products with no preservatives, no chemicals & no fragrance. They had to be mild, safe and effective - nourishing and protecting the skin. There are now loads of products in the Balmonds range, from lip balm to shampoo and everything in between. I was lucky enough to get my hands on some, and here's what I think!
Balmonds - my experience
Balmonds SkinSalvation
Balmonds Daily Moisturising Cream
This product is just LOVELY. Its an emollient, so it is quite thick but it's a cream rather than a balm and it sinks in so nicely. It doesn't irritate the skin at all, and again can be used on babies from six weeks - you can also use it all over the skin, and I find it works really nice as a face cream when my skin is on the dry side. With hemp seed oil, chamomile and more it's so soothing!
Balmonds Bath & Body Oil
The Balmonds Bath & Body Oil is such a versatile product. It can be used to lock moisture in straight after a shower, as a cleansing oil, for shaving or for a nice massage. It has lavender in it as well as various other oils and it smells amazing. My skin felt soooo nice after using this, and I didn't react to it like I have done to other oils. It can be quite a messy product and it's not one I can see myself using daily, but it's good to have in my skincare stash. You can use this on babies (from 6 weeks) also.
Balmonds Scalp Oil
Despite having eczema and dry skin I've never suffered from dandruff. However, recently I have noticed myself getting a bit of a flaky scalp which is SO ANNOYING. The thought of putting oil in my hair didn't really appeal to me, but I gave it a go anyway - I put it on the night before washing my hair, and it rinse out so easily with shampoo. I definitely noticed a bit of a difference in the flakiness, so if you do have dandruff then give it a go! This product isn't recommended for babies under 3 as some of the oils are quite potent, just so you know.
So there you have it - my thoughts on 4 staple Balmonds skincare products. They are a brand I would highly recommend looking into if you suffer from eczema, psoriasis or any other dry/sensitive skin conditions. Have you tried them before?
Oh my dayssss, everyone is posting about skincare at the minute and proper tempting me. I'm opening more and more tabs on my computer of different products haha x
