Five recent reads | April 20 - part 3

I've honestly not read this much in such a short space of time since I went to the Caribbean and read at least one book every day. But there's not much else to do on lockdown, is there? So here's some more quickfire book reviews for you...

I've been wanting to read No Big Deal by Bethany Rutter since it came out, but I never got round to it - honestly, it was SO worth the wait. What a beautiful story, so well written and so well handled. It's about a plus size girl navigating high school and falling in love, and it's an amazing read!

My next read was Soulmates by Holly Bourne, which the lovely Kayleigh got me off my Amazon wishlist - what a babe. I read this in around 24 hours, and it was AMAZING. It's all about what happens if two actual scientific soulmates happen to find each other and fall in love - and it's a wild ride. I loved it soooo much.

I've read a lot of YA recently so decided to opt for a psychological thriller for my next book - An Unwanted Guest by the fantastic Shari Lapena. It's about a group of people who get stuck at a hotel and people keep dying and it's SO tense. I didn't guess who did it whatsoever, and I was on edge the whole time. So good!!!

I got The Flat Share by Beth O'Leary from the lovely Beth and I read it all in one evening, mostly because it has been so hyped up that I had to know if it was deserving of its reputation. It's about two people who share a flat but they've never met, and then of course they do meet and... well, no spoilers but I think it was all fairly obvious. It's a feel good romance novel, and I did enjoy it - I think!

My fifth and final recent read was another Shari Lapena book, which I treated myself to on a recent food-shopping trip to Asda. It was Someone We Know, a whodunnit set in a small American town. I didn't enjoy it quite as much as her other books, but the twist was incredible and overall it was an enjoyable read. I flew through this and I'd definitely recommend it if you like a thriller.

That's three recent read blog posts in one month, which is slightly outrageous but I've been loving sitting in the sunshine (in our back garden) with a good book. What have you been reading lately?
