What's new in my beauty stash | February 2020

This blog post contains PR samples, denoted by a *. Please see my disclaimer for more info.

It's been ages since I did a bit of a haul post, and I wanted to share some new products that have come through in the past few weeks - all beauty related, and all lovely. Let me know if you've tried any of them!

New skincare in my stash

I also recently went for a meeting with the lovely Jenny who works for La Roche-Posay, CeraVe and Vichy. She's fab, and brought me some goodies to try so expect reviews of all of these soon! I got my hands on the CeraVe Foaming Cleanser* which is meant to be amazing and really gentle and the CeraVe Eye Repair Cream* - I never use eye cream so I'm excited to add this to my skincare routine.

I've also got the Vichy Mineral 89 Fortifying and Plumping Daily Booster* which has Hyaluronic Acid in it and helps your moisturiser work a bit better, and the La Roche-Posay Pure Vitamin C10 Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Oxidant Renovating Serum*. A bit of a mouthful in terms of the name but I'm buzzing to try this one. Last but not least she brought me some La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (+) SPF30*. It's been years since I've used any Effaclar Duo and I'm thrilled to have it back in my beauty stash.

New make up in my stash

Vichy also kindly sent me a few shades of their classic Dermablend Corrective Fluid Foundation*, which I actually tried (and loved) a few years ago - but I'm excited to see if I still love it now as my skin is ever-changing. I remember it having good coverage, and that still seems to be the case. I'll do a full review with some photos soon! It comes in seven shades, and I think the range could be a bit better personally, but if you can find your shade and you have "problem skin" like me, then keep your eyes peeled to see how I get on with it this time around...

I absolutely love IT Cosmetics - their skincare is some of the best I've ever tried, and I have an eyeshadow palette from them too which I just adore as well as their amazing CC+ Cream. So when I saw they were releasing a new range of lipsticks called the Pillow Lips collection, I was so excited. Two shades made their way to me: Humble* (cream finish) and Like a Dream* (matte finish). They swatch beautifully - both are nude shades, with Humble being more brown-toned and Like a Dream having a lovely pink tone to it. They also both feel really nourishing on the lips, and there's loads of different shades to choose from. Plus, seriously, how cute is that packaging?

Another favourite brand of mine is Soap & Glory - known for their pink packaging and super-sweet scented body butters, shower gels and body scrubs. But they also do make up, which I've not really ventured into before. I have a lipstick and a sticky lip gloss from them which I bought years ago, and that's about it. But a couple of weeks ago a package arrived from them full of eye make up: two of their Lid Stuff double-ended eyeshadow sticks*, the Thick & Fast mascara* and their Supercat Eyeliner*. Now I'm not an eyeliner kind of person, but I'm looking forward to trying this. The mascara looks great too, but I'm most excited for the eyeshadow sticks because they're slim (so great for your travel make up bag) and you get two colours in each one. They seem to blend like a dream, too!

And for Valentine's Day, the lovely team at FalseEyelashes.co.uk sent me some gorgeous lashes from House of Lashes and Ardell. The two pairs from House of Lashes are super fluffy and thick and dramatic - I can't wait to wear them for a party or something special. But it's the Ardell lashes I'm buzzing about: they're MAGNETIC! I've see other people talk about these, and was so excited to try them myself. You get a pot of eyeliner with them and a little brush, and the lashes genuinely stick to the eyeliner. It's absolutely magic. I still need to practise with my eyeliner skills but if you're already good at eyeliner then you will love these. I'm off out on Friday night so you'll hopefully see some pictures soon...

So that's all the bits that are new in my beauty stash right now - what have you got your hands on recently?

  5. What an amazing stash of products from CeraVe and La Roche-Posay! I'm really into skincare, especially at this time of year, so I'd be all over that. The eye cream looks lovely and you can't go wrong with any product that has hyaluronic acid in it!

  6. I picked up a Cerave cleanser in the sales just after Christmas, I haven't yet tried it but I have high hopes as I have read some really lovely things about the brand.
