If you know me, you'll know I'm categorically not a film person. Someone will quote a film or be talking about they favourite, and you can pretty much guarantee I won't have seen it - which is an endless source of frustration and amusement to my friends. However, I do try. There's been some decent films out between 2010 and the end of 2019 so I thought I'd tell you my favourite ones, as someone who struggles to sit still for 5 minutes but has actually watched all of these in their entirety.
2010
Shutter Island - bloody brilliant if a bit heavy.
How to Train Your Dragon - absolutely lovely and an easy watch.
Despicable Me - saw this 4 times in the cinema and loved it.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice - involves magic AND features Nicolas Cage.
Ramona & Beezus - gorgeous family movie. Tissues needed.
Charlie St. Cloud - again, tissues needed. So beautiful.
Easy A - an absolute classic, obviously.
2011
Paul - the best alien film there is.
Bridesmaids - the funniest chick flick ever, I reckon.
Bad Teacher - such an easy, funny watch.
One Day - a good adaptation of a great book.
The Inbetweeners Movie - for obvious reasons.
Hugo - so so so beautiful.
Arthur Christmas - a genuinely lovely Christmas film.
2012
21 Jump Street - superbly funny.
Ted - very good laugh.
Ruby Sparks - an unusual & lovely story.
Pitch Perfect - absolutely spot on.
Seven Psychopaths - Martin McDonagh never fails.
Les Misérables - fantastic musical adaptation.
2013
Oz The Great and Powerful - a brilliant retelling.
Now You See Me - just bloody fantastic.
The Heat - girl powerrrr.
We're The Millers - a nice easy/funny watch.
Dallas Buyers Club - one of the best films ever made.
Frozen - I genuinely love it so much, still.
2014
A Million Ways to Die in the West - absolutely hysterical.
22 Jump Street - as good as the first.
Big Hero 6 - one of the best animations of all time.
Kingsman: The Secret Service - truly just incredible in every way.
2015
Still Alice - so sad but equally beautiful.
The Bad Education Movie - utterly fantastic humour.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens - a brilliant addition.
2016
Finding Dory - so bloody cute.
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - fantastic story & so well done.
Moana - Disney's finest moment.
Hidden Figures - one of the best films EVER.
2017
The Lego Batman Movie - the best Batman film don't fight me.
A Cure for Wellness - truly horrifying.
T2 Trainspotting - a fantastic sequel.
The Book of Henry - take your tissues!!!!
War for the Planet of the Apes - my favourite PotA film.
Atomic Blonde - perfect in every way.
Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri - again, Martin McDonagh never fails.
Coco - another brilliant Disney offering.
The Greatest Showman - mostly for the soundtrack, and Zac Efron.
2018
Black Panther - truly iconic. The costumes!!!!!
Christopher Robin - the most precious film.
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs - just brilliant stuff.
2019
Detective Pikachu - cute and also hilarious.
Dumplin' - just fantastic really.
Joker - completely iconic.
And there you have it - my favourite films from the past decade. 2017 was a good year wasn't it?! Honestly if you're thinking "what about *insert dead famous film here*" it's not me being controversial but I still haven't even seen La La Land, Get Out or A Star is Born. What are some of your favourite films from the past decade? Let me know!
I absolutely love Dallas Buyers Club and Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri! I've heard so many great things about Shutter Island, so I definitely need to watch it soon. I can totally relate when it comes to not being a film person - there are so many classics I haven't seen yet!

This has got me desperate to watch some classics that I haven't seen in aaages! Easy A is amazing, Shutter Island messed my head up for ages, and you're right - Moana is the best Disney film! There's quite a few in here I've not seen too, so I'll need to catch up on them!
