My favourite make up removers

As we all know by now (surely) face wipes are bad. Like, bad. They're not great for your skin - a lot of them contain alcohol, which is really drying and irritating. And they're not great for the planet either as most aren't biodegradable, and it's just another thing to add to landfill especially if you use them on a daily basis. I know for some people, they're a necessity. I completely get that. But if you're in a position to make a change, ditching the face wipes is a really easy swap you can make to live a more ethical and eco-friendly lifestyle. Without further ado, here's my favourite make up removers that can easily replace face wipes in your skincare routine.

All of these cleansers are ones that you rub into dry skin while you've still got your make up on, and then wipe off with a damp flannel or cloth. I use microfibre cloths from the kitchen aisle because they're soft and cheap; cotton flannels and muslin cloths are great too!

ARK Pre Cleanse & Make-Up Remover*

This is amazing. It's a liquid that you rub into your skin and it entirely dissolves your make up in seconds. It's a bit on the pricey side (£30) but honestly, it's worth it. It's one I reach for after a long but shift when I just want to dive into bed! BUY IT HERE

The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter

I've had this one multiple times, and I absolutely love it. Even better, The Body Shop always have offers on so it's pretty affordable.  It's a kind of soft balm consistency (like butter, funnily enough) but it's not greasy or anything. I've reviewed it here but honestly, it's a dream and leaves your skin feel fantastic and so clean. I've also cleaned out my empty tin and now use it to store my shampoo bar. Talk about eco-friendly hacks, right? BUY IT HERE

Tropic Smoothing Cleanser*

I've been featuring this on my blog since 2016, and I still love it. Again it's not the cheapest, but it really works. It's a cream cleanser and it smells lovely, and I just really rate it. When you buy it it comes with a bamboo face cloth which is reaaaaallly soft - mine's been washed loads of times and still feels lovely on the skin. BUY IT HERE

Urban Decay Meltdown Make Up Remover Dissolving Spray*

The UD Meltdown range isn't one I've seen many people talk about, but I used to get PR from them and this was one of the products. I tried it recently for the first time and honestly, wow. It's a mist/spray which feels like a very lightweight oil when it hits your skin and it truly does just dissolve your make up completely. Then you just wipe it off with a damp cloth. Et voila! It comes in a travel size too, which I think I might purchase for my next Poland trip (hand luggage only and all that...) I'm just so impressed with this stuff. BUY IT HERE

Yes To Coconuts Ultra Hydrating Cream Cleanser

I bought this in Poundland so heads up, it may have been discontinued - but Yes To have loads of other cleansers available. It's another cream cleanser, as the name suggests, and it breaks down make up easily without leaving the skin dry or irritated. A bargain cleanser that really works! BUY IT HERE
