Top 7 acts to watch at Download Festival 2019

Another summer, another year that I'm not going to Download - I swear I'll get there one year, but alas it isn't this one. So I thought I'd do my usual *thing* and write you a handy list of the bands I would hypothetically go and rock out with if I was going to Download. There's 7 of them. Enjoy.

Bad Wolves are a band I discovered last year, and immediately got my dad into as well - I heard their cover of Zombies by The Cranberries and fell in love a bit, then listened to all their other tunes and fell in love a bit more. I've actually booked tickets to see them in Manchester the day before Download starts because I'm petty and don't want my dad to see them before I do. Go and watch them, they're sick and they're on the Zippo Encore Stage on Saturday.

Enter Shikari are a band I've seen before, and they absolutely always bring the party so if you're looking for a good time, go and boogie with these boys. Powerful songs that you can actually enjoy? Yes please - find them on The Avalanche Stage on Sunday!

Hot Milk are absolutely smashing it this year in terms of festivals - I mentioned them in my post about which bands you should watch at Slam Dunk, which has been and gone now, but they're playing festivals all over the UK this year which is amazing to see from such a fun and lovely group of people. Head down for a bop with them at The Avalanche Stage on Saturday.

Queen Zee are a band who are local to me, and I'm all about supporting people who come from the mad little area of the country that I come from, plus their music is pretty good and they seem like an interesting/very cool group of people. You can find them on the Dogtooth Stage on Saturday!

Simple Creatures a.k.a Mark Hoppus and Alex Gaskarth are a band I want someone (anyone) to go and watch so you can report back to me as to whether it's any good. When they dropped that single my response was "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" and I'll admit it hasn't really grown on me - but it would be interesting to see them do it live and see what happens. They're on The Avalanche Stage on Saturday.

Slipknot are a band I love but have never seen live - you don't need me to tell you about Slipknot, presumably, but they'd definitely be on my list if I was going. They're on main stage on the Saturday!

State Champs are a pop punk band that I really like and have never seen, and would really like to have a boogie with one day. If you're into pop punk then you probably already know these guys, and if not then have a listen and maybe go see them on the Zippo Encore Stage on Sunday.

Also if you happen to be camping in RIP there's a few bands playing there, including a duo called The Philosophers. You should go and watch them, if you can - they're pretty cool. And my dad's the singer but that's beside the point...

If you're off to Download, have fun and stay safe - and discover new bands, too!
