Caro short stay Liverpool | hotel review

As I live so close to Liverpool, it's not often that I stay overnight in the city - I usually just don't need to. But when the team over at Caro gave me the opportunity to come and stay at one of their short stay lettings, I had to say yes. I made plans to catch up with some friends who live in South Liverpool, and headed over to the city.

There are two locations to choose from when booking a short stay with Caro - the Parker Street apartments, and the old Bridewell. Both are great but offer very different things. Parker Street has various one bedroom apartments and studio apartments; they're pet friendly with kitchenettes, and all have a flat screen TV. On the other hand the Bridewell has traditional hotel rooms rather than apartments, with twin and double rooms as well as a couple of studios that have kitchenettes. The Bridewell also has a fitness centre and a shared lounge area. Both locations offer free WiFi, too.

Caro short stay - Parker Street

We were booked into a one bedroom apartment at the Parker Street site, and we stopped off at M&S on the way to get a couple of beers, some tortilla chips and of course, some dips. Check in was easy - you get buzzed in after letting them know you're there via intercom, and head up in the lift or via the stairs to where the reception is. I signed my name and we got our keys and that was that!

The apartment itself was stunning - really clean and white and bright with a grey and yellow colour scheme, which is entirely my dream aesthetic. There was a bottle of prosecco waiting for us on arrival, which is a perk of booking direct with Caro themselves; we popped it open and enjoyed it with our chips and dip while we waited for the England women's world cup game to kick off. We had a living room area which had the kitchenette as well as a table and two chairs, a sofa and the TV; the views aren't anything spectacular, but it's nice to see the city from a different angle!

The bed was comfortable, the temperature was fine, the bathroom was clean AND the shower had good water pressure which sounds like such a boring thing to comment on but I hate those showers that just trickle out!

All in all, my stay at the Caro short stay apartment on Parker Street was top notch; prices vary but you can often get rooms for under £40, which is incredible for such a nice place to stay in Liverpool city centre. Big thanks to Caro for inviting me to stay at your stunning gaff, I'll definitely be back if I find myself looking for somewhere to stay in the city.
