Top 10 acts to watch at Slam Dunk 2019

Another year, another Slam Dunk Festival that I'm not actually going to: and I'm gutted because the line up is actually amazing. But I've recently been on holiday so finances and also having to take more time off work just meant it was a no-go for me this year - being the nice girl that I am, though, I've put together a list of the bands I think you should definitely watch if you're going.

William Ryan Key is doing an acoustic set on the Marshall stage; I saw him earlier this year and he was amazing, so he won't disappoint. I didn't know many of his songs at the time but now I do so I'd love to see him again - his voice and stage presence are amazing, and it'll be so enjoyable if you do catch him at Slam Dunk.

Hot Milk are just a very good band - I saw them supporting Deaf Havana and loved their set and their energy, and from following them on socials I can confirm they're a boss group of people who produce sick music. They're on the Key Club Stage, so go and party with them!

New Found Glory are without a doubt one of my favourite bands in the whole wide world ever; I've seen them a fair few times and they always do festival sets really well. I love them so much and you can catch them on the Monster Energy stage. An absolute must.

The Interrupters are a pretty new band to me but they seem like a lot of fun and I think they'd be great to see live - you'll find them on the Punk in Drublic stage because, obviously, they're pretty punk.

Simple Plan are, again, one of my favourite bands of all time - I used to have their song lyrics written on my bedroom wall in red felt tip. I've seen them once before and it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to. I'd absolutely love to see them again so if you are going, please watch them for me! (they're on the Monster Energy stage)

Gallows are one of the best hardcore punk bands around, and I saw them at Leeds when I was a lot younger - and I still remember their set to this day, so it must have been pretty good. You'll find them on the Impericon.com stage if you want to mosh around a bit.

Plain White T's aren't a band I've ever managed to see live, but if the weather is as good as it's meant to be this weekend then I can't think of anything better than chilling and dancing to their tunes with your mates. Catch them on the Marshall stage!

Neck Deep are another band I love a lot and have been lucky enough to see a few times. Always such an energetic set from the lads, so it'll be a good pop-punk time if you go and see them. They're on the Monster Energy stage.

Lizzy Farrall seems like an absolute babe, and after listening to her music I'd love to see her live. Plus she's pretty local to me and I'm all about supporting the gal dem so go and catch her set on the acoustic stage!

Bullet For My Valentine are the last band on this list but honestly, one of the bands I'm the most desperate to see from the line up because they're a childhood favourite of mine who I've not been lucky enough to see in the past. They're on the Jagermeister stage if you fancy it.

So that's it - my top 10 acts to watch at Slam Dunk 2019. I love putting these posts together every time festival season rolls around but writing this one has made me particularly jealous of everyone who's going to Slam Dunk this year. If that's you, have fun and stay safe!
