It has to be said, I bloody love Netlix - but sometimes it takes forever to find anything worth watching on there. With that being said, I thought I'd share my current Netflix recommendations in case you're having a night in or just need something new to binge watch...
Agatha and the Truth of Murder
My aunty got me into Agatha Christie when I was younger (Death on the Nile is one of my favourite films) and she said this was pretty good - and it is. It's an imagining of what might have happened when Agatha Christie, famous mystery writer, disappeared for 11 days. The 1920s fashion is lovely and the storyline is great, AND it has Neil from the Inbetweeners in it.
The Secret of Crickley Hall
I popped this on on a whim because it has Suranne Jones in it and she never disappoints - and I absolutely loved it. It follows the story of a young family who's son disappears, and they move to a big old house to escape London for a bit. Turns out the house is a bit haunted and used to be an orphanage, and we get to see flashbacks to the 1940s. It's such a clever series and I just loved it.
Collateral
This is a 4-part BBC thriller and it's sooooo good. It has Carey Mulligan in it and she's investigating the murder of a pizza delivery man, which spirals into some pretty big shit. It has some major sub-plots and it's a bit difficult to follow along with, but definitely worth a watch.
Dumplin'
My mum and I watched this on mother's day and I absolutely LOVED it. It's such a feel good film - quite emotional in parts but full of love and laughter and Dolly Parton references, and the storyline is just gorgeous. I'd definitely recommend this for a girly night in with your pals. Biggggg love.
In the Dark
This is another BBC drama, about a pregnant detective investigating the disappearance of a young girl in her hometown. It drags up all sorts from her past and her present, and it's such a twisty-turny series. Definitely a good one to watch!
Honourable mentions to Line of Duty, Bodyguard and also the Disappearance of Madeleine McCann which are all also on Netflix, but more widely spoken about than the above. If you're sick of trying to find something to watch on Netflix, check out the above and enjoy...
