So, I started off very well with part one of this series and the delicious vegan brownies - part two doesn't fill me with as much hope, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I was in Home Bargains (the motherland, if you watch my insta stories) and I spotted this range of snack bars for a massive 39p each. So I picked up two, and I'm trying them out for a blog post. Simple...
Onli Natural
There is next to no information available online about Onli Natural; they're part of Hunky Dory Foods, but there's no website available for any of it so I can't really tell you much. But the bars are cold pressed with 5 ingredients in each, and completely veggie/vegan as well as being a source of fibre AND one of your five a day. There are 3 flavours available as far as I know - cocoa orange, cookie dough and cherry bakewell - and they're very similar to Nakd bars in that they're literally made from fruit and natural flavourings. This is really not my kind of thing, let me just say that.
Cookie Dough
The first one I tried was the cookie dough bar, and it wasn't as bad as I thought. It took me about 10 minutes to eat it (and they're only small) which I think was down to the texture being something completely different to what I'm used to. It had a vague taste of cookie dough, but nothing that made me go 'wow', you know? It was okay, but just okay. 5/10
Cocoa Orange
As soon as I opened the cocoa orange bar, I could smell the chocolatey-orange goodness. I managed to eat this one much quicker, and it genuinely tasted so nice. It's not quite a Terry's chocolate orange but if you're vegan/dairy free, it's definitely a good alternative. I can't say I'll be eating this as my go-to snack but I will absolutely pick up some more to have in the house when I'm peckish but don't want anything too big. 8/10
I didn't get the cherry bakewell bar because that's not a flavour I like at all, so I didn't feel like I would be a fair judge - so I just tried the two. I was expecting to enjoy the cookie dough bar more than the cocoa orange one, so I was really surprised. For a healthy, easy snack and fairly cheap, they're spot on.
