Happy 22nd birthday princess - are you feeeeelin' 22 like T Swift said you would? I hope you have the most wonderful day, and I can't wait for you to open your presents later. I hope I know you well enough to have picked out some things you truly love (who am I kidding, of course I have)

Thank you for being my girlfriend, my best friend, my rock. Thank you for looking at the stars with me and humouring my bee obsession; thank you for doing my eye make-up for a night out and thank you for always encouraging me. I know, undoubtedly, that I can do anything with you by my side. I'm so proud of how much we've grown this year - together and separately. I know we have a future that's bright, and I know you'll always push me to my limits and be there to catch me if I fall. I know you'll treat me right and I know you'll always look after me, whether that's rubbing my back at 3am on the bathroom floor because I can't handle my vodka, or making toast before I head off to uni.

I'm grateful for your selflessness, your strength, your taste in documentaries. I'm grateful for every time you show me a video of a cute puppy and for every impulsive decision we make together. I'm so excited to see what the next year holds for us - more holidays, more spending, our first home together. I look forward to waking up next to you every day, and to encouraging you, supporting you, and loving you.
