Guardian of the Forest // Lush

Bath bombs are, completely and utterly, such a frivolous way to spend money. But they are so so so worth it and let me tell you why - it is, surely, impossible to be entirely unhappy whilst lying in SPARKLY WATER. There's something so special about being clean and warm with tiny flecks of glitter everywhere you turn.

lush guardians of the forest

Sam recently bought me the Guardian of the Forest bath bomb from Lush, which is one of their newest. It contains cypress and oakmoss absolute and rosemary oil, all of which make for a really lovely nature-like smell, almost as if you're walking in a forest. It explodes into greens and blues and a little bit of yellow, settling into a - dare I say it - forest green, complete with silver lustre.

I sat in my green bath surrounded by glitter and I thought about Sam and how much I love her, and how much she loves me, and that when it comes down to it that's all that really matters: love. And kindness, early morning kisses, looking at the stars in my back garden and trying to find constellations. Looking after each other on our worst days, the songs that we can't help but sing along to, brushed cotton bed sheets - tiny luxuries in a world too big for us.

My skin felt soothed and nurtured and clean when I emerged from the bathroom, and I don't really know what else there is to say about a bath bomb except that I think they're wonderful. I buy them for my mum and for Sam as a sort of "thanks for being you" present which I think is a truly lovely thing to do, and must be done, and done often. Plus they make fab stocking fillers, what with it coming up to Christmas and all.

What's your favourite ever Lush bath bomb?
