DIY rustic travel bucket list...

I am an absolute sucker for travelling, and I'm always lusting over photos of beaches and jungles in far away lands. Ideally I'd like to visit 99% of the Earth in my lifetime, but that seems pretty unattainable, so I've created a travel bucket list and made it look all fancy.

You will need ...
  • A teabag + boiling water
  • A sheet of A4 paper
  • A paintbrush
  • Access to a computer/laptop with printer
  • A lighter/matches
To start with, make a cup of tea (no milk, no sugar, obv) and use the paintbrush to turn the plain A4 paper into something that looks brown and wet and gross. It may need a few coats to achieve your desired shade of tea-stain - do a layer than leave it to dry, and repeat 'til it's looking how you like it.

While you're waiting for it to try, type up your travel bucket list. I'd like to add that mine is definitely not all of the places I want to go, but I was having a complete mind blank when I was writing it up! It works best in black as it stands out a lot better, but you can do whatever I guess.

When your tea-soaked paper is dry and probably a bit crispy, carefully put it into your printer so it's the next piece to be printed on, then go ahead and print yo' list. Once it's printed, you can rip it and burn it to make it look as rustic and funky as you like! And that's literally it.

How many times can you say print in one paragraph?! Just a quick DIY-Friday post, if any of you recreate this please share it with me. And I'd love to know where you want to visit!!!

Want to see my general bucket list? 'course you do

  1. Wow! This has turned out really well! I have to tea stain things so much, but it's actually such a therapeutic process, I love doing it!
Stonehenge is so amazing. We drove there one morning (about 5am!) so we could watch the sunrise over it. It was brilliant. Hopefully you'll get to go soon!

  2. I used to make treasure maps like this when I was younger! If you put it in the oven for a couple of minutes it gives it a nice old look as well :D And when the tea warms up it goes a great colour!

  4. This tea stained paper idea is fab, you're a genius Katy! And I spend at least 1 hour everyday reblogging wanderlust stuff on Tumblr and dying a little every time I realize I CAN'T go to see the world right now, damn!
