Rimmel Fix & Protect Primer // review

My skin, being dry as the Sahara Desert, tends to need a bit of assistance when it comes to keeping make up on - so our collection of primers and setting sprays is pretty big. One of our latest additions is the Rimmel Fix & Protect Primer, which Sam bought in London earlier this month; I've been testing it out, so here's my thoughts...

This primer claims to protect the skin from pollution and UV rays, as well as perfecting the skin. It's white in colour, and I find when I apply it, it takes away some of the redness from my skin which is always a plus. It's a similar texture to the MAC Prep & Prime face protect lotion, which is obviously a bit more expensive: both feel like thick moisturisers that drag a bit on the skin (but not in an uncomfortable way) and rather than having a silicone feel, they're a bit tacky.

Make up applies really nicely on top of this stuff, and although I wouldn't say it lasted for ageeeesssss, it's not as if my make up was coming off within a couple of hours which it would do with no primer at all - so it's definitely doing something, and it's only £6.99 at full price so it's worth a try!

  1. If this protects the skin from pollution, I'll be giving this a go - the pollution has been so bad here in Warsaw. Thanks for sharing this review.

    Check out my recent?

  2. At that price it is well worth a go! As high street primers go this one sounds ideal!

  3. For that price, it's certainly is worth a go. I have a bit of a love hate relationship with primers but always love Rimmel so I think I'll test this one out soon.
