Graduation Photo Diary

So in case you missed it on social media (you probably didn't, I think it was literally trending locally at some point) I graduated last week with a first class BA Hons degree in journalism and creative writing. I wanted to keep all my photos together and tell y'all a bit about the people in them, so...

I love this photo - we'd just finished getting ready and Sam did my make up and I just think we both look cute AF. Plus, dog filter, am I right?

Okay so - I'm wearing my grandad's station master hat, and it's a bit of a story. He died when I was doing my GCSEs so he never got to see me go to uni but I know he'd be proud of me, and I always miss him when we do anything as a family, so Sam came up with the idea of getting some photos in his hat. I was gonna have his hat on with my gown (just for pics) but I didn't want anything bad to happen to it, so we just opted for some in the hotel!

You can see my dress okay-ish in this pic, taken in our hotel (The Dene) and I think this is one sassy photo if you ask me.

I don't know what it is but I just love this photo of me, pre-ceremony, probably stressing about something or other.

Me and my brother. Gangster AF.

This is me and the one and only Olly, who is an all-round legend. Even with the sun in his eyes.

How cute is this?

So this is Becky, and we met on the first day of uni because we'd both turned up to the wrong session, and we bonded over both being plastic scousers on the same course. She quickly became my big sister and best friend, and then we found out that my mum used to look after her in nursery, and her mum used to cut my mama's hair. So they got to see us graduate together, how weird is that?!

This angel is Lucy, and she's one of the coolest, smartest, most head strong and most lovely people I met during my 3 years at Chester and I'm truly #blessed to have her in my life.

Me and my mommy post-ceremony. Love her.

First class, bitches.

My dress is from Zara; I'd ordered a few from various places, tried on a load in different shops, and eventually settled on this oversized t shirt dress which looked a bit nothing-y on the website but IRL is covered in shimmer and sparkle. It was comfortable, fit me perfectly and wasn't too casual or too dressy. I wore plain black tights with it but my shoes were the real showstopper in my opinion: black heeled boots with the most beautiful floral embroidery on the outsides. I'm in love with them, and they weren't even that uncomfortable! They were forty quid from River Island and I just can't get enough of them.

I had a lovely day (despite being poorly) and even though there were hymns and prayers and trumpets, the ceremony was lovely.  Plus I got to see a dog graduate, and she really stole the show.
