Happy Christmas

I wasn't going to post today because I wasn't sure if anyone would read it, but I didn't want a gap in my schedule so here we are. This year's been a funny one, but it's been amazing so I wanted to take this opportunity to look back at everything that's happened.

At the beginning of the year, my life changed for the better - I met Sam; we were in Gourmet Burger Kitchen before a Body Shop bloggers event, and I was eating the best burger ever while catching up with some fellow blog-writers. Then in she walked, a flurry of blonde hair in a floral skirt and dark lipstick, and she sat opposite me to the left, and she was so beautiful. I immediately embarrassed myself by waffling on about god knows what, but we've been inseparable ever since. We went on a few dates and I helped her with the first North West blogger meet up and then in March, we mutually decided that we were officially girlfriends now. And I was thrilled, and I still am, and every day I fall deeper in love with her. It's pretty great, actually.

I went down to London on my own for an event, and then I went back to London with Sam to visit the V&A which was incredible. We've been to Spain together, and to Newcastle, and to my favourite ever city of Krakow, and shared a good few trips to Liverpool to spend money we don't have. I finished my second year of uni with a 2:1 and moved into a house that has damp on the ceilings with a lovely group of girls. I've watched more quiz shows than I care to mention; I've written a lot of poetry; I've upped my blog game. I saw one of my life-long friends get married; I got a job I truly enjoy at a café; I built bridges with people. I went to Berlin with my uni course; I ate some great food; I celebrated a lot of things.

This year has seen me overcoming my depression, and I couldn't be more proud of myself. I'm now well over 100 days clean from {TW} self harm, and after Christmas I hope to be reducing my anti-depressants - I'm so happy about that, and my mind is a lot clearer now. I got a new tattoo, read some incredible books, went to my first menu launch. I partied with my best friends, baked some amazing brownies, bought the most beautiful mustard coat at a charity shop.

There's been ups and downs like there is every year, but I'm in a pretty good place right now and I can only hope that continues into 2016. Thank you to everyone who's offering a shoulder to cry on, a kind word, a reassuring eye caste over my writing. Thank you, for making sure I'm still here.
