DAILY DECEMBER #1 // The Christmas Tag

I was going to do Blogmas this year, but apparently there were proper rules and restrictions and I was too late to the party. I still want to blog every day throughout December (until the 25th), so I'm just gonna do my own thing, and they probably won't all be Christmassy. To start off though, this post is a Christmas-themed one, so I hope you enjoy!

1.  Do you prefer a real Christmas tree or a synthetic one?
For me it has to be a real one - the smell is soooo beautiful. But we have a crazy little dog and a light coloured carpet, so the past few years we've had a synthetic one. I think you can make them look just as nice!

2.  You're in a coffee shop and it's December, what do you pick? Don't hate me, but I don't like tea, coffee or even hot chocolate. Bad blogger. How on earth am I going to post good Instagram photos this winter? No but seriously, I'd probably get a smoothie. Sorry not sorry!

3.  What would be your ideal colour scheme for decorating the tree? I think blue & silver look really pretty together, but a mish mash of all the different decorations you've collected over the year can look so cute too.

4.  Do you prefer giving or receiving? I enjoy them both the same. Is that selfish? I don't think so. It makes me happy when people love what I've bought them, and it makes me happy when somebody buys me something that they've obviously put thought into.

5.  To mince pie or not to mince pie? Absolutely not. Ughhhh. I'm not doing well so far am I? No Starbucks and no mince pies...

6.  What do you have for Christmas dinner? Mother hen makes the most wonderful roasted vine tomato soup, so we always have that for starters and it is delightful. Whilst I'm no longer vegetarian, I'm not the biggest meat lover - so for me, I have a Quorn Roast, with the potatoes, Yorkshire puds and veggies. My mum always makes us have at least one Brussels sprout too. Lashings of gravy - of course! I don't like bacon (fussiest eater award?) so I don't have pigs in blankets, but my mum normally does some separate sausages for me.

7.  What's your idea of Christmas day fashion? For me this goes one of two ways: onesie all day, or glammed up. Depends how I feel on the day I suppose!

8.  What's your favourite Christmas song? A Spaceman Came Travelling // Chris de Burgh - this has to be one of my favourite songs of all time. It's so soothing!

9.  What's your favourite Christmas film? I'm not a massive fan of Christmas films, and I'm sick of hearing Elf quotes now... But if I had to pick a fave, it would be The Muppet Christmas Carol. Orrrrr maybe the Christmas edition of Beauty and the Beast, because that's so cute.

10.  Do you pen presents before or after lunch? My brother and I usually open our 'Santa' presents as soon as we wake up, then other presents are spread throughout the day, which I like because it just keeps going!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my answers to the Christmas tag; if you've done the tag, feel free to pop the link in the comments below or tweet it to me over at @katygilroyblog - I'll even RT it for you! Don't forget to join in with #thelilacscrapbook December photo challenge over on Instagram too, I can't wait to see everyone's posts. Happy month-of-Christmas.
