Lush Dark Angels // Review

Skincare is something I love trying out; whilst I do try and stick to one thing because of how sensitive my skin can be, I am always tempted to try the latest hype. So when I started seeing more and more people talking about the Frank and Jealous body scrubs, I was desperate to try it - but not at that price! I saw somebody compare them to the Dark Angels scrub from Lush, and I became equally intrigued.

I headed to my nearest Lush store, and one of the lovely guys who works there gave me a sample of Dark Angels - this is something I love about Lush, you get a decent sized sample with instructions and ingredients, rather than a skimpy little sachet.

What's in it? Dark Angels contains charcoal, which is becoming more and more well known as an exfoliator - which is strange considering it's so dark! The rhassoul mud is good for a really deep cleanse, as it penetrates the pores and draws out any impurities. The scrub also has avocado oil for moisturising, and black sugar which aids exfoliation even more.

How is it used? As with all Lush products, it's weird and wonderful and ever so messy. When I use Dark Angels, I splash my face with hot water to open my pores, then take a small amount in wet palms, mixing it gently so as not to crumble it completely. I then scrub my face with it, concentrating on my chin, nose and cheeks as those are the places where my blemishes occur most often. I use it at the sink so I have the mirror in front of me - it's difficult to use in the shower as you can't see where you're putting it!

It smells delightful and it leaves my skin feeling not only clean, but soft and smooth too. At first it terrified me but it has fast become one of my favourite ever products, plus it doesn't irritate my skin which is always an absolute bonus!

  1. I love Lush products! I've never heard of this scrub before but will definitely have to check it out! The Cupcake face mask is lovely too! Thanks for the recommendation :)
