Generic Mother's Day Gift "Ideas" 2017

I wasn't sure whether to do a gift guide for Mother's Day because every mum is different, but I do really enjoy putting them together and I've been sent some lovely Mother's Day-related things lately from some lovely brands that I wanted to share with you - so here goes. None of them are groundbreaking, obviously, but there's some good'uns in here anyway...

Sweet Bella Gifts sent me one of their boxes - and inside was chocolate chocolate chocolate. My favourite was the hot chocolate spoon stirrer; I keep seeing these, and although I don't drink hot drinks, I think these are such a cool idea. You just stir them into hot milk and voila, you've got yourself a hot choc. I just ate it whole, and it was delicious. Also inside was some rose & raspberry milk chocolate (overbearingly rose-flavoured, so probably amazing if you're a fan of rose) and a strawberry chocolate lollipop in the shape of a rose which was GORGEOUS. The box came beautifully presented and would make a lovely gift for chocolate-loving mamas everywhere. You can find them on the Sweet Bella Gifts site here, and they do a few different variations!

Pamper gifts are always appreciated, and Crabtree & Evelyn have a new range out called La Source which contains marine ingredients. It all smells incredible (my mum approves) and you can't go wrong with Crabtree & Evelyn, in my opinion! My favourite is the overnight hand therapy which guarantees soft and smooth hands - perfect for a Mother's Day treat.

Books are WONDERFUL gifts, just truly truly wonderful, and I recently got sent Cay Rademacher's new book The Wolf Children which I am sooooo excited to read and review for you. I've also been loving Douglas Coupland, Sophie Hannah and Sue Monk Kidd lately too - and always, to be fair. Definitely get your mama a book - it's like giving her the world.

If your mum's a make-up lover, or even a beginner, you can't go wrong with new brushes - and So-Eco have some adorned with rose gold. They're cruelty-free, good quality and have a comfy grip; what more could mama want? Plus they look good on display!

Please let me know what you'll be getting for your mum for mother's day - and if you aren't celebrating with your loved ones for whatever reason, then my thoughts are with you.

  1. My mum is the hardest person to buy for in my life, and what makes it even more difficult is that her birthday is a couple of weeks after Mother's Day. She's someone who has pretty much everything she could need/want, so when asking her what she'd like, she always says "I don't know" or "nothing." I've settled for buying her Elbow's new album, as she's going to see them soon, some of her favourite skincare bits from Dr. Organic, and a box of large matches that have a Women's Institute-related design on the box (she's just been elected as the president of her local WI, so I thought this was fitting). I've got no idea what to do about her birthday though!

  2. This can be as basic as doing family unit errands, tidying up a room that isn't their own, taking their mother out to lunch, or even a film. mothers day presents ideas
