February Films // the round up

I've seen a fair few films in February, and I thought I'd give y'all a run down of my thoughts - I may start doing this monthly, so let me know what you think!

Lego Batman was amaaaaazing - funny and sweet and exciting. I loved the storyline, and I'm not even that into superheroes and stuff like that. I think they did a great job with the voices (Kimmy Schmidt as the weird brick lady in the sky anyone?) and the graphics were superb. 10/10

Another solid 10/10 was Hidden Figures which I wrote a whole review of - but I'll just reiterate that it's one of the most brilliant films I have EVER seen in my life.

A Cure For Wellness was an odd one - the cinematography was absolutely incredible (the Swiss Alps and a giant castle and creepy vaults) but everything else was weird. The plot was stupid, it definitely needed trigger warnings and the characters were just a bit ... predictable. 4/10

I loved Naomi & Ely's No Kiss List which was cheesy but lovely, and quite good gay representation, and to be honest I love Victoria Justice in most things. The storyline could have ended SO cliché but it doesn't and I'm grateful for that. 8/10

Boy Meets Girl was absolutely brilliant, too, especially for LGBT+ representation. The title throws it off a bit, because the story follows a trans girl but then I think, at the end, you come to realise why they called it what they did. And it's nice, AND THEY HAD A TRANS ACTRESS PLAYING THE ROLE OF A TRANS CHARACTER and I loved that, and I loved her supportive family and friends and I loved her, as a character who was true to herself. 9/10

An old favourite that I re-watched, introducing it to Sam, was Ruby Sparks - not quite as good as I remember, and slightly more upsetting to watch now that I'm older, but a lovely storyline and an interesting take on relationships. 7/10

Have you seen any good films this month? Let me know!
