The Big Hair Do // event

It started with getting minorly lost in a questionable area of Cheshire, but eventually myself, Sam, Hannah and Emma found ourselves at Boutique Atelier in Whitby for an evening of prosecco and posh hair styles. We were greeted with a glass of fizz and a goody bag containing some Invisibobbles and a BaByliss hair brush, as well as some samples which will be making their way into one of my Sample Stash posts - so keep your eyes peeled.

The girls at Boutique Atelier were all lovely, and they're often stylists to the stars - honestly, the girl who put my hair into two funky lookin' braids has also done Michelle Keegan's hair. Swoooon. I have to say my hair looked absolutely boss as my darker roots made the braids stand out, so I was made up! Hannah and Emma were both taught how to curl their hair with the BaByliss Pro Ceramic Dial-a-Heat Tongs and despite the pair of them being convinced they'd never be able to do it, they came away with gorgeous soft curls.

I had such fun playing with Han's camera

I spotted the BaByliss Curl Secret in front of an empty chair, and demanded that Sam sat down so I could play around with it - I'm forever seeing it on YouTube videos (shoutout to Grav3yardgirl) and I've always wanted to see if it does really work. After a semi-disaster and potential fire hazard situation, I managed to curl the front of Sam's hair and it looked incredible. I would have done it all but she's a modern day Rapunzel and it would have taken approximately 7 hours. Hannah and I decided we would pop Sam's hair into three plaits, and then cat's-cradle style we plaited the three plaits together into one big plait. Whew, how many times can you say plait in one sentence?! I'm not even convinced it's a thing any more.

It was such a lovely night; a chance to catch up with fellow blog friends, and the opportunity to learn some new hair tips and tricks. Thank you to the girls at Boutique Atelier for having us! It's an absolutely gorgeous salon - dark wood, hanging filament bulbs, a gorgeous barber area; definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for a new 'do.
