Tarte 'Lights Camera Flashes' mascara // review

One of the highlights of the #NWmeet gift bags was the full size Tarte 'lights camera flashes' mascara* - encased in gold leather, it looks absolutely stunning in my make up collection. Since they arrived at my house well over a month ago, I've been dying to try it out but I thought I'd be good and wait 'til after the event - and boy was it worth the wait!

The brush is big, but it doesn't feel big - normally with big mascara brushes I end up with black spots all over my face, in my hair and on my mirror. But with this one it coats my lashes and nothing else which is delightful. It's quite a wet formula, but it dries really quickly and it doesn't clump which is what you want in a mascara really. My lashes are soooo short and stumpy, and no mascara ever changes that: I've come to accept I'll never have lush long lashes like Sam and most toddlers do, but you can't have everything in life. Anyway, Lights Camera Flashes makes my lashes a nice length even though it's nothing ground breaking.

Throughout the day, it did smudge quite a bit under my eyes but I think that's more because I have watery eyes and dodgy skin, rather than being an issue with the mascara itself. So yeah that's the only downside really. What else can I tell you? It's quite difficult to get your hands on in the UK, as far as I know you can only really get it from QVC for around the £30 mark - so it's definitely one to throw on your list if you're heading to America soon!

Tarte are eco-friendly and also cruelty free which is so exciting for such a lush high-end brand, and I want to try sooo much more from them.

Have you tried anything form Tarte - what would you recommend?
