Argan Oil Hair & Skin Care // Home Bargains // Review

I am a massive lover of Home Bargains - being a student, I'm always trying to find cheaper alternatives to raved-about products. Argan and Moroccan oils have been on the increase in the past few years, and Home Bargains stock a range of it that doesn't seem to have a brand name - the staple colours of the brand are brown and lime green, and if anyone knows the name please let me know!!

I thought I'd do a little round up of the products I've tried from the brand...

Shampoo & Conditioner // These products are lovely to use, and leave my hair feeling predictably soft and smooth - not only that, they have the most gorgeous smell. I usually suffer from quite dry hair due to it being ridiculously messed around with, but my hair feels healthy and hydrated when I use this stuff!

Heat Defence Leave In Spray // I've tried all sorts of heat defence sprays, and I have to say this isn't one of my favourites. It does the trick, but it feels quite weighty in my hair. It smells nice though, as does the rest of the range.

Hydrating Hair Mask // A tub of this stuff is an absolute joy to have - it's one of those miracle products. My hair has recently been dyed pink, which I hated, and I tried every method under the sun (washing powder, vitamin C tablets, washing up liquid, you name it...) to fade it. This left my hair feeling disgusting, dry, crusty and dead. Then I bleached and toned it, so it was feeling absolutely awful. I washed it then whacked this stuff all over my head and left it on for probably about 40 minutes. I get distracted easily. I washed it off then let it air dry, and my hair felt heavenly again!

Hair Oil // This product is the real downfall of the range to me - it's fine in just-washed wet hair, if you're going to let it air dry, and of course it smells nice too. Other than that, it's a nightmare to work with. It's such a thick consistency, nearing a gel rather than an oil. In dry hair it goes sticky and leaves you feeling like your hair has been sprayed with chip pan grease. Ugh.

Face Wipes // I'm not a massive fan of face wipes, because they're a bit shit for skin and the environment - but if you're in a pinch, or going to a festival or whatever, these are some of the best I've tried. And so cheap!

I believe they do a lot more in the range, such as a facial serum, body butter and hand/foot treatments, but I've not tried these - I am intrigued though! You can sometimes pick this range up in Poundland too, so it's well worth looking out for. As with all the products in bargain shops, the stock is never consistent: so if you see it, grab it!

  1. I didn't know that Home Bargains did an argan oil range, I bet it's so much more affordable too. I'll have to take a look.

  2. The tree is known for its slow growth, and therefore, takes many years to mature. Some programs have been started to re-introduce the argan tree in regions of Israel and Algeria.
